What I Do On A Sick Day

Saturday, 27 September 2014

So if you don't follow me on Twitter (which you should) then you would know that just as I start back into my vlogging and blogging I get really sick with a cold (fyi @aspoonfulofhope). For the past week I have developed a horrendous cold - no exaggeration. As I sat feeling sorry for myself I decided to be some what productive and attempt to take some photos, which didn't go so well, and write a blog post on what I do when I'm sick.

Apart from the usual sick day basics which include sitting in bed all day, wearing pyjamas with a blanket watching Netflix and eating food I actually do some other things that could potentially make me feel slightly better. Sometimes I do actually try to be productive, but some days I do just watch Netflix. For example yesterday I watched Netflix ALL DAY. ALL DAY. Oh, and YouTube. A lot of YouTube.

When I want to be productive I tend to go all out and manage a lot of things. Even if I feel really sick I still like to be in a tidy place, so I will usually go around my room and clean it. I don't just mean pick a few things up of the floor. I mean, dusting, hoovering, organising. The whole shah-bang!

Something that I also LOVE to do is bake. Now you may think 'that's disgusting, you're ill', but let me tell you, hygiene is a huge thing for me anyway, so baking when I am ill is like total hygiene overload. If I cough, sneeze, touch my face, anything, I am straight back to that sick and I lather my hands and arms in soap. I actually baked today, and I'm not going to lie, I washed my hands 15 TIMES. FIFTEEN TIMES PEOPLE.

The last thing I usually love to do apart from sleeping is reading. I have recently fallen back in love with my Kindle - it's been a love/hate relationship, and I have so many books on there that I can't wait to read, so I've really been taking my time to read some books!

I'd love to know what you do on a sick day, well if you're well enough to do anything at all that is! So if you do a blog post, or just leave a comment I would love to read them!

  1. I find baking so relaxing on a sick day too, you feel like you're still achieving something (and end up with amazing treats) even when you can't leave the house! Really enjoyed this post :)
