I have seen this post going around the blog space for a while now, and I thought this would be a good
post to do so you guys get to know the background of aspoonfulofhope!

When did you start your blog?
I actually started my blog on June 6th 2012. Which means that I have actually been on my blog for over two years now! That is actually so crazy, and I never expected it to be such a huge part of my life it is now. Wow, that's weird!
Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?
I actually have been on YouTube before creating my aspoonfulofhope channel! When I was in around year 7/8 so that made me 12 years old, I had my own singing channel called hopee18x or something like that. I have always loved singing, but I do not have the confidence to sing infront of other people. So, that is why I created a YouTube channel to share my singing to the world haha. I was quite proud of it as I hit something like 300 subscribers, haha. FYI - You will not be able to find this channel anymore. I has been deleted. Haha!
Why did you start a blog?
I had started a blog basically for my own amusement, and out of pure boredom. I have always loved fashion and beauty. I have grown up with my mum and my two sisters, so I sort of picked it up off them. You can probably tell that is was hard for my dad all us girls, haha. When I was younger I would watch my mum do her make up and hair, and I always wanted to be able to experiment with my own looks and styles. So that is why I created a blog, to share my thoughts and opinions with people through writing about what I love.

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
I think I became serious about my blog when I saw that people actually enjoyed to read my posts, which I still don't understand why because they are just weird. This was something I had always wanted to do after seeing people such as Zoella, Sprinkle Of Glitter and so many other people share their thoughts through blog writing. It has always been serious for me I think as this was something I really wanted to commit to and continue to do.
What was your first post?
My first post was titled My Nail Collection, it is still up today and I am pretty proud of that post seen as it was my first ever one. I showed whoever was following me at the time all of the different nail polishes I own. I know, so interesting right? You can see that post here.
What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
My biggest challenge about blogging I think for me is comparison. This is something I struggle a lot with in my day to day life and over silly little things like blog's. I will tend to go to someone else's blog and think 'their photos are better than mine', 'their blog design is prettier than mine', and you get the jist of how that goes. I am still learning to not compare myself to anyone, or compare my blog/YouTube to someone else's as it takes the spark away from what you're doing and what you love doing.
Where do you see your blog in one year?
I hope to see my blog in one years time to be a lot more consistent and better quality. I know I just said about comparison, but I am striving to product better quality photos that are pleasing to the eye for people. I hope that I and other people will still enjoy to come over to my blog and read the posts I write. I hope there to be a few more people here so I can continue to share my thoughts to a wider audience. Most of all, I just hope to be happy, and to be happy with my blog and to continue to love it like it's my own baby. Is that weird? Yes, yes it is.
What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
I think the most rewarding thing that comes from blogging is the opportunities people get given. I mean I haven't had opportunities from blogging yet but for example, I was sent a facial cream from The Body Shop to review and to go up on their channel, and I just think that is so cool as nothing like that has happened to me before. It's all very new, and all very exciting, but very scary at the same time. Also, you guys are rewarding towards me. Without your support and lovely comments and views and followers I wouldn't be doing this today, and I know everyone says this, but I don't know what I would be doing if I weren't doing my blog and YouTube. I know there aren't many of you guys, but you are enough for me. It isn't about the numbers, it's about the support and you guys always give me support so HUGS! X
What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I actually can't answer that question right now as nothing seriously bad has happened to me through blogging and YouTube. Oh, maybe though things that could maybe discourage me is if somebody doesn't like myself as a person, or the way I look, dress, act, speak. Even the posts I write, but I think that is something you gradually learn to deal with as time goes on, and I think I could cope with people opinions of me.
What’s your lasting inspiration or motivation?
My on-going inspiration to continue to keep my blog running is the support I have from you guys, my friends and my family as it really allows me to feel like I am making people happy through what I write and through what I post. That is really encouraging to me. Also, is continuous ideas and thoughts that I just always want to share with you and I love talking to you so I love blogging to keep in touch with my fantastic readers!

I hope this post wasn't too long or soppy for you, but I thought it was a lovely idea for people to get to know a bit more about the background of my blog. I tag all of you to do this blog post, and if you do leave a comment down below with the link! Have such a wonderful day x

  2. Love this post. I can empathise completely about comparing my blogs to others. With me it's about the figures. I see blogs that are poorly worded with spelling mistakes or absolutely awful pcitures (and I mean awful) raking in 50 followers a day and it makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong! Glad I'm not the only one who compares!
